Meeting Minutes – September 10, 2019

The meeting was called to order at 7:30 pm. There were 14 members present.

Gordon N8GMM presented “Velocity Factor” and demonstrated its effects on electromagnetic waves and photons.

Hospital Report: No one was reported to be ill. Scott N8XP suggested we start a well being check for some of the members who were regular attendees but we haven’t seen in a while.

General Announcements:

The Livonia D-Star repeater is up and running. The Lake Orion D-Star repeater in process.

Reports:

Secretary’s report of the July meeting minutes was read. It was approved unanimously by the membership present.

Treasures’ report was presented and approved unanimously by the membership present.

Repeater Trusties’ report that the repeater site had lots of brush material that he cleaned up.

Webmaster reports during the period of July1 – Aug 31, our website had 210 unique users. We had 85 users from Sept 1 through Sept 10. Our Face book has 200 users.

Old Business:

LCARA state incorporation as a nonprofit is complete effective July 17, 2019.

Robo-Con operating event was a success. We made a combined total of 271 QSO’s (CW, SSB, FT8, FM) with 27 QSL requests so far. A big thanks to the 10 volunteers who made the event possible. We are invited back for next year’s event.

Our new LCARA banner that we used at Robo-Con was displayed at the meeting for the membership to see.

The LCARA picnic went well and the attendees were well fed.

Bill KD8VP suggested we send a thank you letter for the equipment donations we received. Gerret KD8YUK will send one.

New Business:

The election of officers’ unopposed slate was approved by the membership present.

  • Treasurer: Paul Zuhlke, AB8XL
  • Secretary: Lee Dziekan, N8LJ

50/50 was won by Scott N8XP. He turned his proceeds back into the club treasury.
