Meeting Minutes – Janurary 14, 2020
The meeting was called to order at 7:30pm by our President Gerret KD8YUK. There were 15 members and guests in attendance.
General Announcements:
No members were reported ill.
Genesee County will offer Sky-warn Training Saturday March 21 at 10 am.
President’s Report:
Our re-incorporation paperwork is complete. The next actions need to be taken in October.
The 501C3 application for the state and IRS is still ongoing.
Secretary’s Report:
The meeting minutes from the November meeting were read by Lee N8LJ and accepted by the membership present.
Treasurer’s Report:
The state of the treasury was reported by Paul AB8XL and accepted by the membership present.
EC Report:
Kevin KB8TAR reports the ARES meeting will be Wednesday January 15th, 7pm EOC basement. All who are interested are welcome to come. Keep in mind upcoming events Big Fish Triathlon in May, and Cystic Fibrosis event in October. Stay tuned for more details.
Repeater Trustee Report:
Mike KN8Z reports all systems running as designed. Clock has been reset to standard time.
Old Business:
The position of presentation coordinator is still open. Please consider supporting this role.
Disposition of the estate items is continuing. A list of available pieces was passed out during the meeting. Proceeds from the items were used to purchase our new 2 meter analogue repeater and controller.
Paul AB8XL reports the new repeater system is set up and functioning in his basement. Interface cables are being prepared for 220 machine interface and the all-star node.
Interfaces to the WAV file interconnects are complete and the functions are working fine. A power switch was added to the machine. Next steps learn and create macros for the different user groups and learn capabilities of the controller. Installation in the repeater shack will be sometime in the spring weather permitting.
New Business:
A representative from Lapeer County Search and Rescue, reports their organization is looking for volunteers to join the Search and Rescue group to support their field communications. The recruitment meeting will be Thursday January 16, 2020 in the Health Department’s basement on M-21 from 7- 9 pm.
